【編織跨時代的緣分】微軟 CEO 的退役人生：林三元與宮保第的四十年約定 WEAVING ACROSS DECADES: Former Microsoft CEO, Teacher Lin San-yuan, and the 40-Year Promise with the Wufeng Lin Family Mansion

科技界重量級人物林三元，曾是微軟高階主管，現轉身成為以「草編童玩」帶給人們純粹快樂的藝術家。他以雙手將自然野草編織成生命與記憶，這份細膩與真誠，正是霧峰林家宮保第最需要注入的傳承靈魂。

林老師與林家的緣分始於 1985 年，那是他新婚蜜月來到宮保第的時刻。當時的林家，與今日歷經 921 震災修復後的樣貌截然不同。這份橫跨四十年的連結，彷彿冥冥中註定：建築與人各自修行，終在 2025 年於此地重逢。

此次，在百人團的熱情邀請下，林三元老師將以首批業師身份，為大家帶來「宮保第草編工作坊」。這不僅是一次學習傳統技藝的機會，更是一場關於永續傳承的對話。我們將運用林老師橫跨科技與人文的豐富經驗，共同探討如何超越 ESG 範疇，讓珍貴的文化傳統技藝得以保存、創新，並生生不息。

Teacher Lin San-yuan, famously known as the "Straw Weaving CEO," is a former Microsoft executive who traded the corporate world for a pair of skillful hands. He uses simple straw crafts (like the classic grasshopper toy) to bring genuine joy to strangers. This blend of high-tech background and humble, sincere artistry is the perfect spirit to inject into the preservation of the Wufeng Lin Family Mansion (Gong Bao Di).

Mr. Lin’s connection with the Lin family home began four decades ago in 1985, when he visited the mansion on his honeymoon—long before the 921 earthquake and subsequent restoration. This enduring link feels like destiny. Both the man and the architecture have undergone their own journeys, finally reuniting here in 2025.

As one of our first invited mentors, Teacher Lin is launching the Gong Bao Di Straw Weaving Workshop. This initiative, proudly supported by the Hundred-Person Group, is about more than just making pretty things. It’s a powerful conversation about sustainable cultural heritage.

We are leveraging his unique experience to look beyond basic ESG principles. This is our chance to actively preserve and innovate traditional cultural crafts that are at risk of disappearing.
